Case Study - Briefing - Feasibility

Case Study - Briefing - B. Feasibility

General Information

  • The purpose of this stage is to determine the following:
  • The technical feasibility of the project
  • The financial feasibility of the project
  • A Client's Brief has been produced as the client has some prior knowledge of the design and construction process having built a number of similar facilities in different parts of the country. Click on Client's Brief to see what is required . The production of the Clients Brief is an important step as it will set down the essential parameters of cost, quality and time for the project. Often the design team will be involved in developing the Client's Brief especially where the client has little experience of construction.
In order to carry out these two essential processes of technical and financial feasibility a design team will need to be assembled, the scope of which will depend on the size and complexity of the project under consideration. In this case the following will be required:
  • The client
  • Architectural services
  • Cost consultants
  • Service engineers as a high level of service installation appears to be required.
  • Structural engineers

You are also reminded to consult chapter nine of the textbook which considers procurement and the case study.
